We have upgraded a 3.x system to a 4.x system. The IDocs are still being written in 3.x format even though the partner profile is blank for the message type implying using the latest version. How can we force it to use the 4.x IDoc?

Hi ,
Try these :-
1) Use the correct Basic Idoc type for your 4.x release . See tcode WE82 .
2) In the partner profile , mention the 4.x release in the field "Seg. release in IDoc type"
3) In the port definition WE21 , choose the correct version for your port .

I found it. I was using an old test EDI port which was set to 3.1 usage.
