Question:
Following a recent move to Patch level 10 SAPKU40010 i have found an issue that we have to have a default ship to address. Transaction 'Edit Internal address' luckly we are only in QA at the moment.
This is cause us a problem because currently when user creates a shopping cart they have the option of selecting a ship to address from the list but if they leave it blank it user there address maintained in there SU01 account in R/3 as certain Product catorgories are desk top delivery.
As you can see having a default ship address breaks this functionallity, so what i need to do is deactivate the requirement for a Default delivery address - has anyone got any advice.........................

Answer:
So your shipping address works as follows -
1. use the ship-to address indicated by the user
2. unless it is left blank, in which case
3. for certain product categories, use the user's address indicated in their "user address" - such as can be found in SU01.
Is that right? How did you accomplish this? (standard config or development?)
