Mobile Site Recovery/Extraction

Question: The data that we push down to our Mobile Service laptops is huge. Our conntrans times are slow if we ever need to recover a DB in the field. Currently we blow away their IDES database and copy a new one out to their MSSQL/Data directory and AC Extract the data back down to them. We do this in cases where their HD crashes or their DB gets corrupt or if R/3 does MASS maintenance that flows to the laptops.

This takes forever. Is anyone else hitting these issues and if so, what are some alternatives?

Answer:
We have the same issue here. Can you copy the IDES from one mobile client to another ? DO the subscriptions have to be the same?

We have thought about having a master laptop for each territory with the same subscriptions. Then we could copy that out to the corrupt ones, but we haven't tried it yet.
