Question:
Our organization would like to implement APO. I will be part of the team that works on it. My question is this: Can anyone recommend a book that details/discuss implementing APO in an organization ? What I am looking for is a book that has case studies in it.
While we can go to SAP classes ... Which we will ... I think it is important to think about APO and how it impacts an organizational setup. Our organization (procurement) has been unchanged for years....
Thanks ... I would appreciate any info or feedback...
Steve
Answer:
Steve,
There are no books on the subject. However, if your company would be interested I would be able to help you out as I have compiled six manuals on the subject. Additionally I have implemented over 1900 locations and 1.9 million materials. Have worked extensively in APO for past 3 plus years in the areas of DP, SNP, PP/DS, gATP & PI2001.2

Answer:
Try "Supply Chain Management Based on SAP Systems" by Knolmeyer, Mertens, Zeier ISBN 3540669523
Pretty slim, general and still available (Couldn't get the Eddinghausen book) and not too expensive.
I've also seen that there is a new APO administration book out (in German) and an English version due some time this summer (see www.sap-press.com) but this is much more tech and implementation related.
