Navigation Attributes in Planning

Question: Hi,

I'm trying to better understand how SEM layouts and functions can use navigation atts.

In the actual data cube, ProdLine is a nav att of material, but is not a characteristic.

Prodline is a characteristic in the plan cube. Can a function be created to copy actual data for a certain Prodline? It seems that characteristics you need to use as selections in planning need to be characteristics of the actual data? Is that right? I'm getting a hard error because the Planning Level characteristic selection does not exist in the source infocube.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks in advance

Answer:
Specify the selection parameters for the account by selecting the attribute where you can specify the Navigational attributes

I'm not sure I follow...

Answer:
One way to select data based on NAV attributes in the planning level in your case is to create a variable of type attribute for MATERIAL and used product line as the attribute.

Use this in your planning level to restrict data for a product line and you can copy the same.
