How to deactivate a mobile site in crm3.0

Question: Hi all,

I want to deactivate the mobile site ie i do not want any entries in the mobile client queues.

We are on CRM 3.0. I know that CRM 4.0 has an option of deactivating a site in admin console. But does anyone know how to do it in crm 3.0?

I can put SMOHQUEUE on hold. Will there be any problem in putting SMOHQUEUE on hold for a longer time?

Thanks in advance,
mb23

Answer:
Hi mb23 ,

Please try blocking the queue in SMQS(SMQ1) for all messages flowing from CRM to Moblie Sales . And if you do not want any queue from Mobile to CRM, block it in SMQR(SMQ2 ) .It will not affect any other component in any way .

If you are not interested with the client then just delete the subscription / site .

Hope this helps.

Answer:
In 3.0 it is not possible to deactivate the queue as done in 4.0. This is a new functionality developed in 4.0. Putting the quque on hold also would increase the size of mw** tables. suggestion would be to delete the mobile client site from Admin console or remove the subscription that is responsible for most of the messages from the CRM Server, like SMOKNA1SHT and SMOVBAK. Assign them whenever necessary.

The option suggested above by Ranjit, would create data inconsistency at a later time between the mobile client and the server. If it is your own test environment, then it is fine. (Provided u know the consequence).

Answer:
Thanks Ranjit and Sathish.

I put R&R queues on hold but still the outbound queues are building up for the mobile sites. I tried deleting all the subscriptions for one of the mobile site, but still the outbound queue for that site is building up and the entries in the outbound queue are the delta changes made in R/3.

Will deleting the sites stop builiding up the queue but still make the delta changes in the Consolidated Database?

Is there any other way to do stop builiding up the mobile site outbound queues?

Answer:
Stopping R&R queues would prevent data from flowing into any of the sites and this means that you cannot selectively de-activate queueus. The feature of de-activation itself is a new feature in 4.0. The only best option left is to delete the site itself or delete the subscription.

If you delete a subscription still u might see data flowing to the outbound queue because deletion messages are sent to the queue for the unsubscription. Also, deleting a subscription does not mean data in the outbound queue is deleted. Only further data that satisfies the subscription shall not be sent. The only way to delete the queue is to delete the site itself.
