SAP Tables

Question: Hi all,

I'm newbie in SAP system and I realized SAP a bit different from any ussual system. because of that I have several question :
- Is there any way that we could do dirrect access to SAP tables ?
- how i can get the data which transaction type used certain action profile or status profile ?

please advice. many thanks in advance

Answer:
try SE16 , you can diplay all table from there
not to sure about your next point , is it transaction or data you want ?

Answer:
dude,
based on your question ''- how i can get the data which transaction type used certain action profile or status profile ? " you should take a CR100 course

Learn how transactions are configured! This is done in Customizing.

In customizing you define Transaction types, and their subprofiles such as:
- org.data determination profile
- partner determination profile
- status profile
-text profile
-action profile

Don't try to mess around in tables if you at least did not get any basic knowledge on SAP CRM!! Otherwise your employee or customer will kick you out even faster than you can say 'ehm'..

Answer:
thanks for the advice drago

I'm just testing the config in SandBox environtment no in production of course.

I'm not thinking messing with tables but I thinkI can get the information that I need by querying the tables. I don't know can we do that in SAP.

following your answer, I have another question. A profile; for example :status profile; can be used by more than one transaction type, can't it ? the question is how can we know how many transaction type use certain profile ( e.g. : status profile A ) ? and what transaction type used it ?
is there any way we can get that information beside we checking all existing transaction type ?

Answer:
yes,
you can query tables!
1) either you write your own report (via SE38)
--> you should know ABAP programming
2) Either you use query tools in SAP via transaction codes:
SQVI, SQ01, SQ02

3) either you know customizing tables, and can quickly lookup the relevant
tables or even have the necessary info available in 1 table

tables can be looked up via SE11 or SE16

4)either you use BW for reporting, but usually BW is not used for reporting on this kind of information

Yes, a defined subprofile, like
-partner determination profile
- org data determination profile
-text profile
-status profile

can be assigned to multiple Transaction types!!
hope this helps
