My company is currently testing out BizTalk to send and receive data from SAP. We've been able to process data back and forth using HRMD_A (HR master data). My question is on the BizTalk side. How does BizTalk get a confirmation that an IDOC was processed properly in SAP?

In IBM websphere/crossworlds the ALEAUD01 idoc can be enabled to send confrimation back to the SAP system. there is some information in the SAP.HELP.COM

as SAP uses transactions for data transmission, any data exchange must be confirmed.
The confirmation is not send by an IDOC but by transmission logic.
Not conforming data transmission and/or data receiving has to cause the retransmission of that data !!!
I don't know that BizTalk, so check whether BizTalk has the ability to handle transactions.
