Sales order in CRM or SD?

Question: Hi,
I hope someone can help me to sort out - what's best, to have the sale order created in SD or in CRM and the replicated into SD?

I have an quotation object today in CRM. This object is not replicated into Sd at all. We are now planning on adding the order object to be able to invoice frop SD later on. So - what are the pro's and Con's on the alternatives:

1) Create QT in CRM -> replicate QT to SD --> Create So In SD
2) Create QT in CRM ->Create SO in CRM --> replicate SO to SD

I hope someone can help me to sort this out!!

Best Regards,
maria

Answer:
you may also want to consider a third option

3) Create quote in CRM, convert qt to order in CRM distribute order to R/3

this is the standard "one document" approach

I think all 3 are good and bad and you need to consider the overall process in order to understand what is the best fit for your client

Answer:
The future is to enter orders in CRM / portals.

But alot depends on whom is entering the orders, CSR's, reps, customers? and version of software (both R/3 & CRM)

we are on CRM 4.0 and use scenario X meaning once changed in R/3, R/3 owns the order.
