SO IDOCS staying at status 03?

Question: We seem to have a problem whereby on a daily basis we can have 4000 sales order IDOC's sent to the receiving system and set to status 41 but we could have upto 12000+ IDOC's remaining at status 03, never having been processed. I have attempted to re-process them via transaction BDA1 but with no joy.

I'm trying to find out the exact reason as why they are not being sent and so far all IDOC's tools have not shown anything which is of help. Suggestions anyone ?

I suspect that as some are getting through we could have some kind of comms problem ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:
Please let me know ,are you using EDI or ALE,

so that i can tell you .

Answer:
To move an idoc to status 41 you have to have an aleaud idocs in return. may one of your target system is not sending back aleaud idoc. helpfull might be to run the abap rbdmoind regulary, since it changes the status from 03 to 12 indicating that the idoc has been processed in rfc queue (if it really was sent ir not it will stay in status 03, in this case you should have a look at tcode SM58 for further investigation).

Answer:
I have exhausted all the checks and come to the conclusion that we may some kine of TCP/IP or tRFC related problem as the results from SM59 for a particular connector is sporadic, one moment it returns a very fast test result and then it's very slow.

Answer:
Think about the packet size (in partner profile). If it's too big the receiver might reject it. Also if your network isn't stable since sap will repeat sending until the whole pachage is through. I've had problem with MQ series, just making a ten minutes break after receiving a big bunch of idocs and then returning to normal operation.
