We are in the procees of looking to implement APO DP.
What would be the best option or route to go?
4.0 or 4.1 and what are the major differences.
Would appreciate your help.

would be a good idea to go through the release notes for SCM 4.1 and see if it gives anything that you need for your requirement and 4.0 cannot fulfill on help.sap.com

I would go for 4.1 ... unless you have a real reason not to, I mean, you get a later release of everything, and as long as you are not surfing on the edge of technology (ie taking the very latest SP's the moment they become available) then you should be fine in terms of stability etc.
