Question:
There are certain data like Marital Status, Date of Birth etc. which we are populating against Contact Person, in the Customer Master. Such data is going into KNVK Table.
If I upload the customer master from R/3 to CRM, would the contact person data (in table KNVK) also move to CRM, or the Contact Person would be created as a separate Business Partner ?
Answer:
The contact persone will be created in CRM as type "person" and a relationship will be created that links the contact person to the customer
Answer:
Does anyone have a logical approach to housekeeping the contacts that
can be created in OLTP, CRM and mobile sales ? What should you do when contacts no longer exist at the business partner ?
We need to clean up the contacts so that we can tell which are active and which are not active at all three front end interfaces.
i.e. OLTP, MW and CRM mobile sales.
In mobile client you can mark a contact person as inactive but this is not visible in CRM MW or OLTP.
In CRM MW you can flag a contact for archieving but this does not show
up in OLTP or mobile client.
In OLTP if you delete a contact you no longer have full history on OLTP for any documents that use contacts e.g.Notifications
You get messages that error in CRM if the contact has been used for activities.
Please if you have tackled this issue can you share your approach ?

Answer:
If I understand correctly, if I create a Customer in R/3 with Contact Person in the Customer Master, then when I transfer this customer to CRM, a Contact Person gets created automatically in CRM with the Relationship?
Secondly I hope all the details like Marital Status, Date of Birth etc. maintained in Customer Master (R/3) in KNVK table would also be transferred to CRM ?
Answer:
Yes that is correct.
Use CUSTOMER_MAIN and CUSTOMER_REL downloads with relevant filters and then BUPA_MAIN if you are using mobile.
How do you mark a contact in OLTP so you can see it is no longer active ?
