Hi,
I would like to send data ( flat file and/or table info) from SAP R/3 to external SQL database. Would SAP BC serve my purpose. What other options have you come across. I found one OSS note which tells how to connect to a SQL DB but I want to explore using SAP BC. We are running SAP R/3 Enterprise and what would it take to get SAP BC up and running.

Hey,
Check service.sap.com/connectors for more information and documentation. SAPBC should already run on an average server. It also depends on the usage of SAPBC. The SAPBCInstallationGuide.pdf gives you more information about this.
