has anyone done this or contemplating it?
we need to consolidate planning data and this data will be loaded from flat files, therefore why not load input files of planned data into BCS (where validations are possible as standard - as opposed to loading flat files into BPS)?
other functions can obviously be performed in BPS thereafter..
any comments?
(i am not a BPS or BCS expert personally - I know BW).

You could load data into BCS via flat file, or, from BCS40, there is a function load from data stream, which provice the possibility to load the data from an infocube.
The BCS will check the data ( like breakdown check) when load data into it.
