Hello,
We are implementing Opportunity Planning for which the Opportunity Line Item GUID has to be a lead column in the layout in order to enable planning at the line item level in CRM.
One of the attributes of this GUID is 'Product ID' which I would like to display in the lead column as well.
Since this GUID is a 32 hexadecimal character and can be somewhat confusing to our end users, I'd like to ONLY display its' attribute 'Product ID'. Is there a way to do this? This GUID takes up a lot of space so I'd like to hide it if at all possible.
Do I need to define an Attribute Characteristic Relationship in order to accomplish this?

Answer:
In the layout design you can display attribute of a lead column characteristic (second screen).
Then, hiding the characterisitc itself can probably be done by hiding the column in excel (third screen of layout display).
I think this will only work if your layout has got the type : display all possible combinations.
