WE19

Question: Hi SAPfriends,

I am really new guy in interfaces and I have some beginner questions
regarding we19 and solving and testing errors.

My input idoc has status 51 and want to solve it in we19. My questions:

1. When I edit value of idoc in we19 or WE02 - does it mean that a new idoc will be created (so there will be 2 = old and new). If yes I can process the new created Idoc, but what shall I do with the old one, delete ? How ?

2. Is it possible to use the test tool we19 without making any changes
in database and in system. I'd like only test if idoc is correst and
can go into system correctly. I have only access to production system
and I am really afraid of causing some mistakes.

Thanks a lot.

Answer:
Hi Clapton,

If you use WE19 to edit your IDOC with status 51, then a new IDOC will be produced and passed to the inbound IDOC port where SAP will try to process it.

The old IDOC can be flagged for deletion via transaction BD87, it then gets status 68.

If you edit the segments with errors via WE02 or WE05 then you will not get a new IDOC. The editied IDOC will get a new status 69 but will retain the same number, you do get a copy of the original IDOC containing the original data with status 70.

The IDOC with the modified data can be processed via transaction BD87 either in the background or in the foreground. In the foreground it can be stopped as error occurs and values causing the error can then be changed. The operation can then continue until it is fully processed.

Hope that helps,

Tim
