Deleted data reappears (BPS)

Question: Hello,
I am facing a weird situation on SEM-BW 3.1b:
I select and delete a certain number of rows in my layout. I save my changes. All looks fine at this stage. I then execute a planing function, and my deleted rows reappear....Does anyone have an advice or hint on what is happening?
Thanks

Answer:
Hi,

does your planning function include a distribution with reference? Depending on your reference data, the rows are not deleted automatically in the reference data. Therefore, a planning function could distribute data "again§ to the deleted rows.

Answer:
Hi TBR,

I'm not sure what kind of deletion it was.
in case you were changing the settings of your layout and deleted the number or rows in the result area, that makes no sense. The result area will appear again after the execution of the layout.
In case you're deleting the values in planning mode, make sure that your function doesn't creat those values that you've just deleted.

Answer:
How you delete the rows? if you should create a BPS delete function instead using the excel delete function.

Answer:
Also check for buffer quality using RSRT. There is a earlier post about a problem similar to yours, where the buffer quality was set to inactive and it did the trick.
check RSRT.
hope this helps

Answer:
Normally you should not be able to delete the rows in the Excel planning layout so there is definite something wrong with your Macro settings (dependent on your Excel version). Also, if you use Excel version 97 you will have to remove the SAP Digital signature from your Excel planning layouts (VBA).

All above results in the lack of setting the Excel Worksheet security with high risk to incosistent data as a result !
