Question:
Hello Gurus,
We are trying to retract Co data form SEM-BPS to R/3 using the standar retractor (UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC and UPR_COST_PLAN_INIT). However, 0MATERIAL is not supported in it. We tried to modify the structure but, receiver fields could not to be changed.
Now, we are thinking about developing our own retractor but, we don't know which is the best option:
1. Create a flat file from BW and import it from R/3
2. Create an ODS in BW and call it form R/3 through RFC connection
3. Connect form R/3 to the InfoCube in BW through RFC connection
Is there any exit to add more fileds to the standar retractor or one of the previous options is the solution for this problem???
Thanks in advance,
Raul (no biw guru)

Raespu,
Easiest is the option 1, flatfile method, however will require regular maintainence like loading, monitoring etc. Of the other two Option 2 opinion seems better, becos you always have data at a level you planned versus aggregated level.i.e ODS versus Cube.
However i think the best way is to option 3, however you can use openhub monitor, where your transactional SEM cube could be the datasource, and the destination could be a ZTable and R/3 could be updated by using this Ztable.
Might take some time to set up, but i feel will automate instead of handling flatfiles, also you could use a process chain to automate something like this.
This is no expert answer, just a rough idea. so please excuse me if this is not feasible. Advanced beginners (As chetan patel likes to call himself ), are now active on this forum might have a word or two on scenarios like this.

BRO ,Well i would be counting myself as an Amateur beginner
hmm jokes apart well never worked on reatraction but similar appoach was done for Basic Cube updating tables in R/3 for CO module using BDC.
I would say not much of records were there approx 5000 and so were not facing problem with Perf or other tech issues.
But i would agree with my BRO vamsh on these cube to R/3 tables is always good approach and would never ever want to go for Flat files lotta pain honestly.
Hope it Helps
