Question:
I have succesfully created a planning layout, manually entered data into it, then selected an Excel cell to which I successfully attached a word document.
Specifically, I
Selected an Excel cell, for example B11
Clicked [Create document]
Entered title and type of document (MS Word)
Entered text into MS Word, for example "Hello world", then [Save][Close]
Returned to planning layout
Noted that Cell B11 has a document icon in its upper right corner
Clicked [Display document]
MS Word document displays OK
Planning>Save all, then [Exit]
After leaving the planning workbench and then returning to this
planning layout, I again
Select Excel cell B11
[Open document]
No document is displayed.
Any ideas why the document can be created and displayed in the initial session, saved, but not displayed in a subsequent session? Why does it disappear?
PS: This is exercise 1-10 of Chapter 3 SEM210 Business Planning and Simulation. I have followed the solution instructions carefully, but still have this problem.

I would say that this document has not been correctly saved. Can you see it in the BW workbench (RSA1 then document) ?
When accessing this transaction the first time, some stuff is activated (don't know exactly what but it occured to me in some systems). If this is the case, that should work better afterwards...

Thanks for your suggestion. I ran transaction RSA1 and then received a popup:

Automatically generated or Defined
Should the Document Attributes be
Regenerated Now (and be written to
Requests)?
[Yes][No}
I clicked [Yes], then attached a new document to cell B11 in my planning layout with manual data entry, exited, and then returned.
Cell B11 contained the icon for a document and when I double clicked on the icon, the Word document opened successfully.
