I have to extrat data from SQL and Oracle databases to BW but I don't know which tool is the best (taking price and quality into consideration).
Can you please give me some help on that???

There are several tools which can help you, so i have been highly impressed by Ascential Datastage. By using Datastage you save a lot of time and can avoid a lot of issues like infoobject mapping for example.
and ascential is a certified partner of SAP BW.

Would you say it is better than DB Connect??? I think SAP BIW 3.x comes with DB Connect. So, I would pay for Ascential only if it is a lot better than DB Connect.

sorry for the delay in my reply....i was busy with many things...
for a fact i know datastage does a superb job in being a single repository to accumulate data from various source systems...honestly i never have worked with DB connect, it might be good, but i doubt if it could a good job like how datastage...becos datastage does the job of generating infoobjects with thier necessary properties.
i hope this helps and as i had suggested earlier check with ascential website and also information on DB connect with any sap representative.

DBconnect is nice feature with BW read for that on service.sap or Help.sap.com and works fairly descent no complaints yet.

As one of the posts advised use Ascential. DB Connect as lot of issues it depends what database you are trying to talk if it is Oracle is not bad but if the database is not Oracle DB Connect is crap. I have had huge issues in connecting SQL with DB Connect.
My preference as the other reader advised is to use Ascential without it you could be wasting lot of time DB Connect is more a marketing feature.
