Opportunity Document - Organizational Problems

Question: Hi Everybody,

We are in the middle of implementing Opportunities on a standalone CRM installation, but we are running into some problem with Organizational structures. During the creation of Opportunity documents the system complains about 'Distribution Channel 01 does not exist' even though it is selectable on the Organization tab. This distribution channel matches the one assigned to the Sales Organization on the Organization Model which we manually created since there is no R/3 backend. We are also getting a second message which might be related to the first one. It says: 'Org unit (sales) does not have these attributes.' Once again the combination selected in the Opportunity document matches exactly the combination of entries in the Organizational Model. Do we miss out on something since it is standalone CRM? I normally only worked on R/3 integrated CRM and so I was also wondering if it is possible to just disable the Organizational Model (or maybe just disable the Organizaton tab on Opportunities)?

Any answers or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
JST

Answer:
You can check your copy controls to make sure you are getting that information over or yes, you can make that a non issuse by not making it mandatory to have that information for Oppty.

Answer:
sapcrmman,

Thanks for your reply.

For some reason it suddenly started working. It almost seems that something might have been buffered and that it just took some time to refresh.

However you are mentioning that it is also possible to make the Organizationl information optional. How can I do that? I looked all over through SPRO without any luck.

Thanks,
Jens
