Source structures in LSMW

Question: I am trying to use various scenarios like standard batch/direct input or BAPIs.

Whichever I choose LSMW next expects me to maintain the source structures this is very tedious especially when I have chosen a BAPI or say
Direct Input vendor master create method 0001 program RCSBI010 and now I want LSMW to define the structure for this input automatically.

I assume it should not be too difficult for LSMW to automatically populate the source structures.

Please advise is there a way in which we can get LSMW to automatically populate the source structure.

Also, when I define my import method to be BAPI why is it asking me to Maintain the
default values for IDoc inbound processing. Why is it asking me to maintain a IDoc inbound processing values when I have chosen BAPI import method?

Next the idoc Inbound processing is asking for a file port , tRFC port, partner type & partner number.

Can somebody please provide me a simple step by step procedure including the sample test data file to create a scenario to import a simple file to BUS1001006 standard material BAPI object.

Also, if we end up defining the source structures for most cases it is very tedious and error prone. Say for direct input for a material master using
RMDATIND how do I find out in what format the program expects the data to be provided for the standard batch input.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks
Julie

Answer:
For source structures, these are assumed to be non SAP, they are from legacy. But they can be copied from standard SAP structures.
