Orders Inbound

Question: Hi there,

A very interesting question, and that being, can I have ORDERS coming into SAP i.e created as an IDOC, without having a customer number? I.e the ORDERS that I have coming in from our customers website, come into THE EAI Websphere & then they get sent from there INTO SAP, but the ORDERS don’t have a CUSTOMER NUMBER.

Will they come into SAP i.e as an IDOC without an ISSUE?,or will SAP complain about this?
Question is ORDERS coming in don’t have a CUSTOMER NUMBER, JUST CUSTOMER NAME.
I want these orders to come into SAP.

Thanks

Em

Answer:
In standard processing IDOC ORDERS will be received by SAP and stopped in status 51.
If you want to process it anyway, you may try user exit of the inbound function module to set a dummy customer code or a "generic customer" (probably the correct definition is "one-time customer") code that you can use as a collector for several customers. When you use this code in an SO you have to specify name and address of the customer.
Howevere, I have never tried this case via IDOC. You may try...
