Question:
I have been trying to install the APO 3.10 package without success.
First I installed Oracle ond the R/3 components, which are working
very well. In the next step I tried to install the LiveCache, but
the installation failed with error messages. Looking through the log
files I found the error was in the statement
UTIL_EXECUTE INIT CONFIG
and that there was a problem writing to the log file. The size of the
log file is set to 2G which should be enough. Trying with the latest
LiveCache version, and trying to install manually without the installer
gave the same result, both for LVC and OLTP instances.
Then I downloaded MaxDB 7.5.00 and installed it as an LVC instance. The
installation went fine and I am able to access the monitor from LC10.
When running the test program for COM objects, it shortdumps with an
error, stating the the APO initialization procedure is not available.
So I downloaded the latest APO COM objects and tried to load these into
LiveCache, but it reports a loader error from the SAPAPO.DLL. The
version of the APO COM objects are for the 7.4 version of LiveCache so
I suspect they may not work with MaxDB 7.5.
To summarize, I tried two approaches to install APO LiveCache and both
failed:
1. Installing the latest version of the LiveCache (SAP DB) from SAP:
fails in the INIT CONFIG statement as the log file could not be
written.
2. Installing MaxDB 7.5 (My SQL) with the APO COM objects from SAP:
failed when loading the SAPAPO.DLL.
Could you please give some advice on how to proceed with the
installation?
