Question:
HI,
My client has a specific req to implement deployment in SNP.
They send manufactured goods out of production line directly into trucks( means they donot store any thing in manufacturing plant) immdtly.
they will go immdtly to DC(SAME COMPANY) and stay there till shipped to customer.Does any one have solution for the same .
MANy thanks

Answer:
Hi Guest,
I have had this situation before. If you don't put an inventory on the floor and you put it directly into a truck you can not use inventory as the "available to deploy" quanity. That is no problem apo lets you specify what you will consider available to deploy. In your case you might what to consider ppds planned orders as the amount that will become "shippable" in the near future. You would match this to snp purchase reqs from the receiving locations as the demand you want to fill. deployment would then plan shipments based apon your production plan.

Answer:
Dear george,
Thanks for the info. The probelm here with process is fulfillment of PPDS orders is less than 70 %, means they keep changing production line due to various factors in production. can you pl tell me what is your suggestion in this case.
thanks

Answer:
Isn't that always the case, you make this great plan and nobody bothers to execute it!
Deployment is self adjusting. In other words if, snp is rerun it will generate new demand and deployment will convert those orders. You will have to delete the old deployment orders that are not going to be executed because of the production changes.
Answer:
Hi Guys,
I see 2 options
1) your production is shipped same day to DC, and you might even need to do some transport planning between plant and DC --> perform a daily MM goods receipt from production, and perform push deployment between Plant and DC (is this a 1 - 1 relation or is it 1 plant, multiple DC's ?) that transferts stock to network at goods receipt from PP, and give you option to handle transport and create visiblity in the DC on ETA of goods.
2) you do not want the overhead of the 'virtual goods reception from PP into MM --> invisible in MM. in that case have a look at an alternative modelling of your network ie why male a difference between plant and DC ?
I understand these things are rarely as simple as they seem, but anyway hope this helps you on the way
